Yahtzio is operated by Sesher Inc. This policy covers the Yahtzio app and yahtz.io.

Information we use

When you create an account, we store your email address, player name, a randomly assigned account identifier and a securely hashed password. We use them to sign you in, recover your account and connect you with friends.

We store friend requests and friendships, invitations, online game state, scorecards and completed game results. Your player name and eligible high scores appear on leaderboards. Friends can see your player name and shared games. Players can find you by your exact email address or player name; search results show your player name, not your email address.

The app keeps preferences, session credentials and pending game results on your device. If you enable game notifications on a supported client, notification preferences and the device notification token are used to deliver game alerts. Our hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and errors, to operate and secure the service.

How information is shared

We use Vercel for hosting, server functions, storage and account-recovery email delivery. These services process information needed to provide Yahtzio. Shared game information is visible to participants, and leaderboard names and scores are visible to players. We do not sell personal data, use advertising identifiers, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising.

Your choices and account deletion

You can change your player name, email and password in Account. You can remove friends in Friends. To delete your account, open Account → Delete Account, enter your current password and choose Confirm Delete. Deletion immediately disables sign-in and hides the account from player search, friends, leaderboards, invitations and online games.

We permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data, including account details, social connections, notifications and scores. We keep only a deleted-account marker and game history with personal data removed for game integrity. Your personal data cannot be recovered, and sign-in cannot be restored.

Hosting-provider technical logs follow the provider’s retention policies.

Security and retention

Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed; account and social records are encrypted at rest by the application. We use account and game data to provide the service while your account is active. After account deletion, only the limited records described above remain. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
